MacPherson's

MacPherson's, the nations finest art distributor of over 40,000 art supplies, has the goal to promote the success of their retail customers. They are dedicated to offering the hottest brands, highest fill rates, best order turnaround times and consistently accurate service.

The MacPherson’s clients were handwriting orders and using old Telxon devices to place their orders.  They needed to automate the ordering process and maximize their current systems.  The devices needed to pay for themselves, be intelligent, reliable, and easy to learn.  At the same time, sales representatives were finding it difficult to place orders from the floor because there were not enough barcode shelf labels.  The device needed to keep track of inventory and give output for shelf labels.  Most importantly, MacPherson’s saw an opportunity to improve inventory turns and efficiencies for their retail store clients.

MacPherson's has also deployed the Retail Navigator Distributed Master Data Management solution that allows retailers utilizing the RN Collaboration Dashboard to synchronize MacPherson's product data and images with their POS and web store systems. Crafts Direct

Crafts Direct is a craft superstore that is larger than a football field and has over a mile of shelving. They stock over 70,000 items. It was a daunting task of buying, keeping inventory fresh, and restocking. For example, weekly orders to suppliers can exceed over 1000 line items.    Crafts Direct needed to automate ordering, receiving, labeling, and Point of Sale.  Loading supplier data manually was not feasible for them as an independent retailer.
